Traversing My New Decade Of 70.

To have reached the gate to and set out on the path of my seventies is to realize the blessing
of a longevity full of walking with and following the God who knows my name, and called me into a relationship with Him before the beginning of the world. Such a blessing has made me equipped to continue on the journey of being a family man, counseling people, helping them discover and understand their genetic motivational design through the PLAYMAKER Profile Of Motivational Gifts, offering the Listening in Christ Retreats and Individual Immersion Retreats. He has also given me the talent for playing drums since I was 15. I am a jazz musician and still play this music in a band called One Flight Up. For me, to play jazz as a drummer is to traverse profound and fecund rhythmic landscapes where ideas swirl and dance, and thus create a tapestry of aural art, a conversation of players who share ideas and together pursue a collective interplay resulting in a conversation of friends.
As I have been ruminating on what I want my next decade to turn out to be, I have a list of endeavors, accomplishments and mindsets I seek to immerse myself in and produce:
- I want to continue playing drums with creativity and produce excellent music.
- I am writing an autobiography tentatively called Some Day I Will See God.
- I still want to be a loving Grandfather to my 5 grandchildren: Conor, Taylor, Maddie, Brody and Piper.
- I want to protect my health by exercising, walking, hiking, lifting light weights, eating healthily, and keeping a gentle and calm emotional and relational posture with those I love and the strangers I meet.
- I want to pray and read the Scriptures more deeply so as to walk more kindly in the time I still have.
- I want to smile, laugh and jump for joy more than cry, be upset or angry.
- I want to bless the Lord with loving and cherishing my wife Tricia, and my children Daniel, Eslie, Alyn, and Andrew (Alyn's husband) and Lindsay, my daughter-in-law.
- I want Tricia and I to be able to buy our own house and be able to give it to our kids after we finish our lives.
- I want to use this blog platform to celebrate the life Tricia and I have lived together in the service of our Lord Jesus and the wounded people He sent our way.
- I want to (with Tricia) be a part of a church where we can flourish and serve God and His people. We are looking forward to serve and bless the folks there.
- I seek to use this blog to express my thoughts, feelings and interactions with Jesus such that I might be able to bless someone.
